ให้เลขาธิการสำนักงานผู้ตรวจการแผ่นดินของรัฐสภาตามพระราชบัญญัติประกอบรัฐธรรมนูญว่าด้วยผู้ตรวจการแผ่นดินของรัฐสภา พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๒ ซึ่งดำรงตำแหน่งอยู่ในวันที่พระราชบัญญัตินี้ใช้บังคับ เป็นเลขาธิการตามพระราชบัญญัตินี้ และให้ดำรงตำแหน่งต่อไปจนกว่าจะครบวาระ โดยให้เริ่มนับวาระตั้งแต่วันที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้ง
