(๑) ตาย
(๒) ลาออก
(๓) ขาดคุณสมบัติตามมาตรา ๓๒ (๔) ถูกจำคุกโดยคำพิพากษาถึงที่สุดให้จำคุก
(๕) เป็นบุคคลล้มละลาย
(๖) เป็นคนไร้ความสามารถ หรือคนเสมือนไร้ความสามารถ
(๗) สภามหาวิทยาลัยมีมติให้ถอดถอนด้วยคะแนนเสียงไม่น้อยกว่าสองในสามของจำนวนกรรมการทั้งหมดเท่าที่มีอยู่
