เหรียญนี้เมื่อผู้ใดได้รับพระราชทานไปแล้ว ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าฯ พระราชทานให้เป็นสิทธิแก่ผู้นั้น ๆ ล่วงลับไปแล้วไม่ต้องคืน แต่ผู้อื่นที่ได้รับต่อไปนอกจากผู้ที่ได้รับพระราชทานจะใช้ติดประดับกายไม่ได้ คงให้เก็บไว้เป็นที่ระลึกสืบไปเท่านั้น
