ส่วนที่ ๑ บททั่วไป

ในหมวดนี้ “การไกล่เกลี่ยข้อพิพาททางอาญา” หมายความว่า การไกล่เกลี่ยข้อพิพาททางอาญาในชั้นการสอบสวน โดยพนักงานสอบสวนจัดให้คู่กรณีในคดีอาญามีโอกาสเจรจาตกลงหรือเยียวยาความเสียหายเพื่อระงับคดีอาญา “คู่กรณี” หมายความว่า ผู้ต้องหาและผู้เสียหายในคดีอาญา แต่ไม่หมายความรวมถึงคดีอาญาที่รัฐหรือหน่วยงานของรัฐเป็นผู้เสียหาย
