เรือไทยที่ได้จดทะเบียนแล้ว ถ้าจะขอเปลี่ยนชื่อเรือ ให้ผู้ขอยื่นคำร้องต่ออธิบดีกรมเจ้าท่าโดยผ่านทางนายทะเบียนเรือประจำเมืองท่าขึ้นทะเบียนของเรือนั้น
