เพื่อประโยชน์ในการดำเนินนโยบายการเงินธปท. อาจกำหนดให้สถาบันการเงินดำรงเงินฝากไว้ที่ ธปท.นอกจากการดำรงสินทรัพย์สภาพคล่องของสถาบันการเงินที่ ธปท. กำหนดตามกฎหมายอื่น ทั้งนี้ ตามหลักเกณฑ์และอัตราดอกเบี้ยที่ ธปท.ประกาศกำหนด
