ให้มีเหรียญสำหรับพระราชทานผู้ทำความดีความชอบในการต่อต้านผู้รุกรานและยอมเสียสละทำการแก้ร้ายให้กลายเป็นดี ยังผลให้ประเทศไทยบรรลุถึงซึ่งสันติภาพคงธำรงไว้ซึ่งเอกราชและอธิปไตย มีนามว่า “เหรียญศานติมาลา” อักษรย่อ ศ.ม.
